RESEARCH AND CONSULTANCY SERVICES

Individuals, groups, organizations, government departments, agencies, whole state governments, and international organizations need critical information to make and implement decisions, monitor progress of their undertakings, and evaluate the impact of their choices and interventions. Such information must be well collected, analyzed, and synthesized for such decisions to meet the objectives of the decision-making individual, group, or organization. This is important whether you are considering venturing into a new area of endeavor, improving existing undertakings, monitoring progress in ongoing programs and projects, or evaluating programs with the view to discerning whether the objectives were met, expected outcomes achieved and the intended impact had. This task requires highly efficient research and consultancy services. Research and consultancy are intertwined in that both involve objective-guided collection and management of information. At Inspire we do both--we work as external consultants.

Research is a deliberate process. It is a purposeful endeavor to uncover information about a phenomenon, object, or situation of one’s interest. In research we systematically collect and manage information that is needed to meet a clear objective of knowledge production, dissemination, and decision-making. In consultancy we provide research-related services and technical advice and/or expertise in specific areas like training, talent identification, placement and development, leadership and professional development, institution review, and networking services.

While our team has the requisite competence to carry out Basic Research – research intended to produce and disseminate knowledge to improve intellectual development and understanding of fundamental aspects with no specific intent of applying it to a desired product or service outcome – we concentrate on Applied Research. Research is “applied” when it is intended to meet specific client-driven purposes through practical interventions based on good, valid, reliable, and appropriate information collected using methodologies of systematic inquiry.

Applied Research may be intended to open up new horizons for individual, group, organization, governmental, inter-governmental and/or non-governmental product or service engagements and operations. It is useful for solving practical problems, making and implementing decisions, developing new strategies or modifying existing strategies and courses of action. We help you get the information you need to do just that. We achieve this by:
• Analyzing the nature, scope, and dimensions of the problem, then identify the kind of information you need to make cutting-edge decisions
• Developing the best possible and appropriate information-collection strategies, and instruments, and their deployment techniques and tactics that will help clients get the right information from the right sources, within the shortest possible time and at the lowest possible cost: we call this “Research Efficiency.”
• Developing and evaluating frameworks and models for analyzing the information collected. This may require combining different models and computer and non-computer programs and software
• Analyzing the information by using appropriate techniques and programs – both computer-based programs, models, and human analytics
• Reporting the findings of the research in a coherent, succinct, easy-to-understand, and appreciable language and style
• Recommending tactical, operational, and strategic decisions, action-plans, and strategies that are appropriate for the person, group, or organization given the research findings.

Our findings may be reported in form of:
*Key points/findings summarized with the focus on key areas to guide decision-making and action for immediate choices
*Policy briefs and research notes that involve brief comparisons with existing policies, programs, and action-plans, and suggesting areas for improvement, change, or re-orientation
*Research reports that are detailed enough to guide decision-making over time, for reference, and used to make and implement decisions in a wide variety of related areas and circumstances
*Publications, such as monographs and other series, book chapters, journal papers, special journal issues, and books focused on the research project. The choice of publication outlet depends on the client’s needs and interests
