OIL, GAS AND MINING ENVIRONMENTAL LAW AND PRACTICE

Several decades of major environmental legislation and regulation of air, water, and solid wastes, have produced an extremely complex matrix of regulations and obligations. These rules and nascent norms have been imposed on the oil and gas industry. Environmental compliance now represents a significant cost of doing business, both in terms of cost of compliance, and of the possible penalties and fines which could be incurred as a result of non-compliance. This training program is designed to enable participants to acquire a detailed practical and legal understanding of the applicability and impact of environmental regulation on oil, gas and mining operations, and facilities necessary for informed corporate planning, acquisition and divestiture analysis, and decision-making. This program is facilitated by oil, gas and mineral development/management practitioners with a wealth of knowledge in policy analysis and practical experience in the industry. There is extensive use of Visual, audio, video documentary, modeling exercises and interactive group case studies.
